For each launch, the BI and data warehouse architect needed to add 10–20 TB of data. “To do that with Teradata, you have to buy hardware and typically keep it for at least five years,” the BI and data warehouse architect said.
His team had to use FTP, which was error-prone and costly. “Sometimes you’d think you extracted a full file but it was only a partial file. Later, you’d learn last month’s data was not loaded properly.”
